British Grand Prix round cancelled

29 May 2020

The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports have announced the cancellation of the British Grand Prix due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak and resulting calendar changes.

The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports have announced the cancellation of the British Grand Prix due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak and resulting calendar changes.

The event was planned to take place from the 28th to the 30th of August at the classic Silverstone Circuit, and was set to host a round of the British Talent Cup.

The cancellation of the Grand Prix obliges the cancellation of the corresponding British Talent Cup round at the same event.

A new, provisional British Superbike calendar – including the BTC, which races alongside the series – is being drafted, taking into account the roadmap of the British government’s phased reopening of activities. This is being undertaken in consultation with teams, broadcasters and circuits in order to provide the best conditions for a credible, competitive and sustainable BSB Championship in 2020 and beyond.

This calendar is intended to be published in the first week of June.
